Get so sick of people who live in the past. The world keeps moving and so should you. Tears cried over memories are wasted. Two things matter: the present and the future.
Tradition
My current time in my life bears certain similarities at this moment:
1. Zack is back in my life.
2. I lost one of my best friends the week before my birthday.
3. The person I lean on is Morgan Marie Teese. My best friend who accepts me exactly as I come.
In some ways it’s worse:
1. School is harder.
2. The Tyler thing has taken its toll on my already weakened heart.
3. I’ve been told I’m a bad person.
But in so many ways, it’s so much better:
1. I have my three solid best friends who will never let me down: Taylor, Kayla, and of course, Morgan.
2. My relationship with my mom has improved to the point where we can talk about almost everything.
3. I have a lot of freedoms.
4. I feel stronger for the year I’ve been through.
5. I’m going to frickin Spain this summer, then I’m off to senior year, then before I know it, COLLEGE!
6. I’ve forgiven. I hate no one anymore. It’s a waste of energy. I don’t hate Tyler for being an ass, I don’t hate Donovan for being judgemental and misleading, and I don’t hate Kaylie for lying to me. And most of all, I’ve forgiven Zack for our past, and maybe even opened up a bit for our future. And that feels good. Really good.
7. My heart was broken, but Zack picked up the pieces and helped me heal.
Everything that initially looks bad in life is a blessing in disguise. Sure, I’m keeping old traditions with my years, but I learn a bit each year. I now maintain that the worst time in your life can always be followed up with the best.
